A card for a contract [crossdressing]
Summer was in full swing, the warm weather over Tokyo gave everyone an opportunity to get out and enjoy themselves. School was out, the days were warm and dry, it was perfect. For a small group of friends, that meant hanging out in the park, sitting outside the old, rusted shed that had become a hangout for them since the events that brought them together. There were twelve sat around the shed, though not all of them were human. Six humans and six Digimon. Friends and partners who had once believed that Digimon were characters in an animated series and trading card game, but like the series, they were real and occupied a space parallel to the human world. Some had chosen to remain with their friends, keeping a watch for any Digimon that may crossover and find themselves away from the Digital World. There was laughter from the group, four of the children sat on the top step outside the shed and watched as two of them were playing a game against one another.Kazu sat across from Jeri, both focussed on the cards in their hands while occasionally looking down at the cards they had already played. Above Jeri, Ryo stood, giving her pointers while Kenta sat behind Kazu and watched with interest. The boys had their respective partners close by. Monodramon, the purple dinosaur like Digimon, partnered with Ryo. Kokuwamon, the machine-insect Digimon who had partnered with Kazu, and Penguinmon, Kenta’s partner. The last Digimon present was Calumon, and while not a partner Digimon like the others, he sat next to Jeri and watched with awe, and a wide smile as he watched Jeri play the last move of the game and beat Kazu for the fourth time in a row.“Oh, come on!” Kazu exclaimed as he stared at the move that had won Jeri the game. “Where did you get a Ladydevimon card?”“I’ve always had it.” Jeri commented, pausing for a moment as she recalled using it with her former partner Leomon, someone she missed dearly. “And thanks to both Rika’s and Ryo’s pointers, I’ve found new combos for using her.” Jeri explained as she picked up her cards and formed them into her deck, setting it to one side. Kenta was laughing at the sight, while Kazu was glaring daggers at Ryo who had an amused smile on his face. “Stop giving her pointers.” Kazu muttered, gathering up his own cards before turning to Kenta who had stopped laughing, but was still sniggering behind his hands and trying not to look too amused at the situation. “You can stop laughing to. You wouldn’t do any better.”“When you consider the fact that she’s been learning from two of the best card players in the country, it’s not exactly difficult to know why I haven’t played a game against Jeri. I’m not ashamed to admit that she’d beat me without breaking a sweat.” Kenta stated before they started bickering amongst themselves. At the bottom of the steps sat the last two of the group and their Digimon partners. Takato and Guillmon, a Digimon created by Takato before their adventures started, and Henry and Terriermon. They had been friends since those early days, helping one another out and being there when the other needed it. Henry’s sister, who was also had a Digimon partner in the form of Lopmon, had hoped to join them but couldn’t make it due to shopping with her parents for school uniform. The four watched as Kazu and Kenta started arguing amongst themselves. Seeing that, Henry was glad that Suzy hadn’t joined them for the afternoon. “Anyone would think they’re a married couple.” Terriermon quipped as he stood on Henry’s shoulder. It caused the others to chuckle, except for Guillmon who had a confused look on his face, not understanding the reference Terriermon had made. The dinosaur Digimon didn’t make a comment, instead continuing to eat the loaf of bread that Takato had brought for him from his parent’s bakery. Takato sighed before shaking his head, Henry chuckled again before sitting back.“Some things never change.” Henry commented before looking at his phone. “Any news on whether Rika will be joining us today?” he asked. It was Jeri who answered. She and Ryo had left Kazu and Kenta to bicker amongst themselves at the top of the steps. “She will be here, she just had to finish up something.”“She didn’t say what that something was?” Takato asked and Jeri shook her head. “Either modelling or her mum is getting her to try on a dress.” “You’re not far from the truth, Takato. However, I wouldn’t say anything in front of Rika.” They were all surprised to see Renamon, the fox Digimon standing on top of the shed, arms folded and looking at the others. It wasn’t uncommon for Renamon to do that. The Digimon had the uncanny ability to appear and disappear at a whim. It was her speciality. There was some grumbling coming from down the path, Takato turned to see Rika walking towards them, a downcast look on her face as she made her way to the hangout.“I can’t believe it. Another modelling contract and she didn’t even tell me.” Rika was muttering and Takato had a bemused look on his face as he realised, he had been right about why joined them as late as she had. “What’s the look for, goggle-head?” Rika asked, causing Takato to flinch and hold his hands up in surrender before stepping back and away from Rika, much to the amusement of Kazu and Kenta who had stopped bickering amongst themselves.“Oh… nothing, no need to worry.” Takato responded sheepishly before Rika stormed up towards him, thunder in her eyes as she glared at her fellow Tamer. Takato shuffled back slightly. No one wanted to stand before Rika when she was in a mood. “I… I just took a guess at why you were late.” Neither said anything, before Rika sighed and shook her head. Sitting down, she clenched and unclenched her fists.“Ever since the D-Reaper and that incident with Locomon, I’ve been trying to get closer to my mum and… things have gotten better. Unfortunately, mum takes it as a sign that she can sign me up for more modelling contracts. A fashion company have a few new lines they want to see modelled and surprise-surprise, she’s put my name forward without asking me.” Rika let out an exasperated sigh before she shook her head again. “Drives me nuts.”“Is modelling really that bad?” Jeri asked, having gathered up her deck and walked down the steps to join the others, leaving Kazu and Kenta to talk amongst themselves. “I’ve always looked at it as being quite fun.” She mused with a bright smile. “It does sound easy.” Takato commented.“Yeah, even an idiot like Takato could do it!” Kazu shouted out, though neither comment was what Rika wanted to hear. She was glaring daggers, shifting her head between Takato and Kazu evenly. She was about to say something. She paused before grinning. An idea came to mind. “Easy?” Rika looked at Takato. “According to my mum, the contract calls for at least two models and they’re short one. Apparently, they had hoped to get a male model, but no one has agreed to do it. If you agree to it, not only will you get paid, but I’ll also give you something in return, say my…” Rika stopped. She reached around to her deck pouch and pulled out her deck. She went through her cards before stopping, taking one out, and showing it to Takato and the others, much to their surprise and shock. “Lilithmon.” Everyone knew about it. A very rare and valuable card. It had a holographic print, a shiny, if using the terminology that collectors used to describe such cards. Rika had been asked many times by many players (Kenta even offering his entire deck for that one card) but had always been turned down. To see her offering it up to Takato in return for one day of modelling meant she was either serious about it or didn’t think that Takato would be up for it. Maybe both. A little awestruck, it took Takato a moment to respond before slowly nodding his head. “O-okay you have a deal. One day modelling and you give me Lilithmon.” Rika had put the card back in her deck pouch and had her phone in hand. She dialled up her mum’s number before holding it up to her ear, grinning all the time. “Mum… yeah, sorry but you know how I feel about random modelling contracts out-of-the-blue. Anyway, I’m in… yeah but also, tell your contact I have a model who’s willing to help out. My friend Takato.” Rika paused for a moment, eyeing up Takato before nodding to herself. “Yeah, should fit. I assume that as they asked for a male model, they’ll have the required sizes.” Rika was smiling as she finished the call and put her phone away. Eyes on Takato, she found that Kazu and Kenta were standing behind him, staring open mouthed at the fact that she was offering an ultra-rare card for a day of modelling. “What are you two gawking at?”“Please tell us there’s more than one model needed?” Kazu started.“We’d be happy to do anything if you want to offer up rare cards like that.” Kenta added before the others were looking in their direction with curious expressions.“I must admit, I am curious to see what happens. I’m not fussed about becoming a model myself, but to see the process and to see what Takato is modelling.” Jeri added before Rika gestured for her to join Rika. She whispered in Jeri’s ear, explaining what it was. It caused Jeri to giggle before nodding her head.“My mum has always said she’d be happy to cater for you all if you wanted to tag along. Okay, three days’ time. I’ll send you the address of the studio. Be there at ten.” Rika stood up before putting her hands on her hips. “I’m going to head home and get the forms sent to you Takato. Get your parents to sign them and bring them with you on the day.” Rika instructed before making her way from the group, Renamon following behind. When they were out of earshot, Renamon looked to her partner. “Are you sure you want to give that up?” She asked Rika. The tamer had a grin on her face as she nodded her head.“I’ll give Takato a chance to back out once he sees what they want him to model. I can’t see it happening.”“A bit cruel, don’t you think?”“Cruel would be not giving him a chance to change his mind when he sees what he’s wearing.” He’ll have the choice, and if he does back out then I wouldn’t hold it against him. I can barely stand wearing what I model as it is.” Rika paused for a moment before she shrugged her shoulders. “Though I will happily point out that he said that it doesn’t sound hard. Modelling isn’t easy, and what we wear is part of that.”-X-The three days went on and there was an air of anticipation and excitement surrounding the group of friends as they gathered outside the photo-studio that was holding the shoot. As she had said, Rika sent all the forms to Takato when she had returned home. Release forms, payment forms, details on family and next of kin. Everything that was needed for a teenager to model. It was a one-off, but Rika’s mother had told Rika to inform Takato that should all go well, there could be more modelling gigs in the future. Rika doubted that there would be more, but she didn’t tell her mother that. She put the details on the message and left it at that.Takato’s parents were a little curious about the matter. Takato had simply said Rika needed someone to help and he was happy to volunteer. He never mentioned the rare card or that it was being done on a challenge. He didn’t think they’d understand that part of it. But Takato’s parents were supportive and signed the forms needed. They would have come along, but both were working the shop that day and couldn’t get the time away to see it happen. As it was, the group of tamers and their partners were waiting inside the studio. Rika and her mum were present, speaking with the manager and gesturing to Takato as the one who’d be joining them. Everything was explained, that Takato didn’t know what he’d be modelling, and Rika would be happy to let him out of it should Takato decide it wasn’t for him (as she felt that either Kazu or Kenta would be willing, though she also had something in mind for the pair). When everything was said and done, it was time for the first part of the day to begin, and to see if Takato was truly willing to go through with what he promised.“Right, come on goggle-head. Time to start getting ready.” Rika told him, smiling and gesturing for him to follow her, her mother and the assistant assigned to the shoot. Takato nodded before turning to Guillmon.“Sit tight buddy, I’ll see you soon.” Takato told his partner Digimon, leaving a bewildered Guillmon as he contemplated what ‘sit tight’ meant. Rika was looking at Kazu and Kenta, holding up two cards in her hands, the back of each turned away from the pair so only Rika knew what she was offering. “We haven’t got any need for any more models; however we do have need for a couple of assistants to help with catering. Do this, and I’ll give you these.” Rika spun the cards around, revealing a pair of Ladydevimon cards, again both shiny. Again, both were left stunned by the sight.“How the hell did you get two shiny Ladydevimon cards?” Kazu asked in disbelief.“Doesn’t matter. Do this, and you get one each.” Both eagerly nodded their heads. Rika smiled before turning to her mum. “Okay, remember what we said mum, give Takato the option. I’ll be with you shortly, just need to help these two with where they need to go.” Rika then turned to the others. “Won’t be too long. We’ll call you into the studio when everything is set up.” The others were left talking amongst themselves, and the two groups of three went into two different areas.-X-The changing room was spacious with all the comforts needed to cope with being prepared for the coming shoot. A vanity mirror lit from top to bottom, makeup and tools sitting ready. A three-seat-sofa was placed against the yellow painted walls, and a mini fridge by one side. It was bright, airy, and ready for the coming day. Those involved had already set up the mannequin to display the chosen outfit for the photoshoot. Takato had a bottle of water in hand, and looked at the outfit, surprised by what they were preparing.Takato had expected worse. The outfit in question consisted of a white morning-suit jacket with silver buttons on both sides, a pair of black shorts, diamond pattern knee high socks and black buckled shoes with an inch heel. Underneath the jacket itself was a double-breasted waistcoat, white with the same matching silver buttons. A white long-sleeved blouse with frilled cuffs and a black cravat. Finishing the outfit was a white top hat with silver fabric wrapped around the top ending in a flower. It was feminine, there was no doubt about it, but considering how often Rika complained of wearing a dress of sorts, Takato had expected her to arrange for him to wear the dress. This was… quite nice actually. Takato had only worn formal attire on special occasions. This would be new. Takato was excited. “Rika had said that if you didn’t feel comfortable doing this, you’d be more than welcome to back out of the deal. This can be a bit of a surprise.” The woman standing behind Takato was Yuriko Takahama, assigned as Takato’s assistant to help prepare him for the coming day. She was tall, in her mid-twenties and dressed in a professional grey pencil skirt suit with a white blouse. She had black hair with blue streaks that fell down her back. In her arms, she carried a folder containing the contracts that Takato had brought with him. She had personally checked all were in order, having signed and validated them to ensure that if Takato went ahead, they’d have the required documentation. If Takato chose not to, then she’d simply shred them. “Its entirely up to you.”Takato gave a small smile and shook his head. He was in this for the long run and had prepared himself for the worse. This was definitely better. “I’m still doing this.” He stated confidently before running a hand across the fabric of the jacket. It was soft to the touch, certainly nicer than the blazer he had to wear on a daily basis during the school year. “When do we start?”Yuriko nodded her head before she made her way to the dressing room door, opening it up and signalling for the stylists to come and join them. It would take an hour for them to prepare Takato’s makeup and hairstyling, and then getting him dressed was the next part. “I’ll leave you in my team’s capable hands. They’ll get you ready for the shoot. I need to go and file these, but shout if you need any help.” Yuriko finished before bowing slightly and stepping out of the room.Left with the stylists, Takato took a moment to prepare himself and started to undress.-X-While Takato and Rika were getting ready for the photoshoot, the second part of Rika’s plan had come into effect. When she had called Kazu and Kenta away from the others with the promise of rare Digimon cards, she hadn’t stated to the others what the pair would have to do to earn those cards. If Takato had thought Rika might have been cruel enough to have him model a dress for the day, he probably hadn’t expected Rika to rope the pair into helping serve drinks. Rika had arranged for a couple of stylists to transform the pair into maids for the day. Were it not for the makeup that had been applied, both Kazu and Kenta would have been cherry-red in the face. Both had been made over, given two-toned wigs of blonde and pink hair with pig tails down the side, and wore knee length pink maid dresses with long sleeves and white cuffs, white stockings and pink Mary-Jane shoes. The white aprons had been tied around their waists, finished with a large bow each. Pink painted nails held trays of drinks for the others who couldn’t help but snigger and laugh at the pair. While it might have been cruel, Rika had felt that as they through Takato under the bus back at the park with their comments, they could do something to make up for it. So, she had them dressed in a couple of spare maid outfits the studio had used for cosplay and fun shots and given the pair a makeover. They did get the cards though, so felt their suffering was worth it. Though neither boy felt that they’d ever live it down. Considering some of the comments and mutterings between Jeri, Henry and Ryo, it was a certainty. Both hoped that whatever Takato was modelling was better than what the two of them were having to wear. “Why thank you, Kenta.” Jeri had said when offered a biscuit from the maid. Kazu sighed when Ryo commented on the maid dress. Even the Digimon were getting in on the comments with Guillmon asking a question that caused everyone to erupt into laughter.“Why are Kazu-Mon and Kenta-Mon dressed as girls? Do they want to be girls?” the dinosaur Digimon asked with genuine curiosity, prompting Henry to explain what some humans do when it comes to costumes and outfits. As for whether they wanted to be girls, well the looks that the pair gave Guillmon said it was a definite no. This caused the others to laugh out loudly before Kazu glared at them all. “Hey, momentai.” Terriermon spoke up before Kazu turned to the Digimon. He was about to say something but thought against it. Rika had told them to endure it and the cards would be theirs without hesitation.“Come on Kazu, just roll with it.” Kenta said to his friend before patting him on the shoulder. “Could be worse. We could be having pictures of us taken.” He added, and he was right. No one had taken their picture once. They were spared the shame of reliving the moment, other than when the others would eventually bring up the experience in conversation. The pair still had hopes that whatever Takato was going to be modelling was a lot worse than what they had to wear. It had been well over an hour since Takato and Rika had been taken away to get ready for the shoot. Neither had been mentioned, and every assistant had simply said that it wouldn’t be much longer. That had been thirty minutes ago. Kazu was about to comment on the matter again when the door that lead to the changing rooms and staging area was opened. Yuriko stepped out, a smile on her face as she faced her guests. “Thank you for waiting, everyone. I trust our volunteer maids have been most cordial?”“Volunteer? We were press-ganged!” Kazu shot back, causing the others to chuckle.“Actually, Rika bribed you into doing this. You could have easily said no, but those cards were calling out to you.” Ryo stated, causing the pair to blush underneath their makeup. “Are they ready?” he asked Yuriko, who nodded her head and smiled again.“Indeed, they are. Follow me.” She gestured, signalling for human and Digimon alike to follow behind. They were led to the studio, through a set of double doors to where several screens were hanging up. Lighting rigs and flashbulbs were angled to get the best lighting for the models. There were groups of technicians and set designers overseeing the last few details of the shoot. In the middle of the room, speaking with the photographer and having a couple of assistants apply the last bits of makeup were the models themselves. Like many of her previous shoots, Rika didn’t look like her normal self. Gone were her casual trappings of jeans and t-shirts and trainers. Instead, she was wearing a full length white dress with black accents. The skirts were flaring out in all directions thanks for the wire hoop skirts, showing off her white heels with silver detailing. The bodice was decorated with silver brocade spirals that created a continuous pattern from waistline to the chest. Her puffed shoulders were attached to long sleeves, and Rika’s hands were encased in white lace gloves. Her hair, normally styled into a bun and held up, had been released and styled into sculpted curls adorned with floral decorations and a headdress that had white roses. Standing next to her was something no one had expected. There were gasps of amazement (and a couple of groans of displeasure from two) at how much Takato had changed for the shoot. He was dressed in the chosen outfit with a few additions. Makeup artists had cleared his skin, giving him an almost doll like appearance to match Rika’s. A light dusting of blush and nude colours helped his eyes pop and they had even given him a pale shade of pink lipstick. Before he donned a pair of white gloves, they noticed that his nails had been painted black. There was a smile on his face as the director of the shoot explained the small details of what they hoped to achieve and what would happen. Single shots, paired shots. They paused when Takato and Rika noticed that the others had arrived and were given five minutes to speak with the others before it all started.“Who would have thought it, the two of you modelling together.” Henry commented, smiling and looking at the two. “You look good though.”“Definitely. Takato, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you in something so…” Jeri paused for a moment, thinking of the right word. “Dapper.” She decided after a moment. “Thanks guys, I must admit I could get used to it. This is quite comfortable.” Takato admitted, before he noticed Kazu and Kenta, snorting in amusement. “So, what’s with the dresses?” he asked. The pair glared at Rika, who despite normally looking uncomfortable in such dresses, she held herself with a grace that spoke of being comfortable with what she was doing.“I offered them an opportunity to earn a pair of rare cards. My Ladydevimon cards. All they had to do was help with the catering and serving drinks. I just failed to tell them about the… uniforms.” “You tricked us!” Kazu and Kenta nearly shouted the words in unison, causing a few members of staff to look in their direction at their outburst.“You could have said no.” Rika pointed out with a grin. “I gave you the same offer I gave Takato, that if he didn’t want to do it then he’d be free to do so. I said the same to you. Even after showing the dresses, you still said yes.” Both boys were sheepish after that, before Kenta shook his head.“Still, Takato wasn’t made to wear a dress.” He muttered, more to himself.“Yeah, I must admit that when they mentioned modelling would be easy, you’d have had him wearing a dress.” Ryo commented with a small nod, glancing between Rika and Takato. “Still, doesn’t matter. What’s done is done…” he looked to Rika. “You look good, both of you do.” Takato and Rika didn’t know how to respond. Takato gave a chuckle, and Rika turned away slightly. Underneath the makeup, she was blushing, but turned back and gave a smile. “Thank you.” Was all she said, before the director of the photoshoot brought the two models over to the screens to get them ready. He instructed the others to stay behind the lighting rigs to one side. All they had to do was watch and remain quiet, the others would do the work. When Takato was put into position before the greenscreen, he smiled to Rika who was positioned to his side, portraying them as a couple. It caused both of them to blush, partly as both had feelings for other members of their group. “Thank you,” Takato said when he had the opportunity. “I really appreciate the opportunity, Rika.” Despite herself, Rika smiled and bowed slightly. “Thank you for joining me, and for sticking to it. Having a friend join me on these shoots actually makes them more bearable. You’re welcome to do it again.”“I’d like that.” “Good. Because next time, you’ll be wearing the dress.” Rika told him, and despite being told to look serious, Takato couldn’t help but laugh, and soon Rika joined in as well. Later on, Jeri and Renamon would ask why she hadn’t put Takato in a dress like the original plan had been. Rika told them that she wanted Takato to experience what being a model was like, and he had done. Whether it was a dress or a suit like Takato wore was irrelevant. It was still the same experience. And she also felt that as Kazu and Kenta were willing to do anything for rare cards, then they should wear the dresses. It caused all three girls to laugh.
